We need volunteer to host an admitted student for a weekend on a free budget! How this will work? Admitted ECE girls will be invited to visit campus whenever is most convenient for them. When we know when she is visiting, the volunteer list will be contacted and you can respond if that weekend is good for you. ENG199W (CRN 34372) is a Leadership & Professional Skill Development course for first-year and upper class women in Engineering. Women who have taken this course have a three times greater retention rate.
Each formal meeting includes a different seminar, topics include:
* Teamwork/Personality Assessment
* Career & Personal Life Balance Panel
* Industry/Grad School Panel
* Business Etiquette Dinner
Requirements:
* Attendance at formal meetings twice a month (dinner provided)
* Mentor 1-3 freshman women in your major
* Meeting with mentee informally twice a month
* Weekly progress survey
* Organize a professor lunch
To Sign Up:
Register for ENG199W CRN: 34372 if you have what it takes to
mentor.Formal meetings are on Mondays at 4pm. You can take it as a 1-credit hour course, or you can choose to audit the class as a mentor.
