    On behalf of Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering (WECE), we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become one of our corporate sponsors for the 2009/2010 academic school year. Founded in 2002, WECE was established as a means of supporting and encouraging women in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

    We are committed to constructing a comfortable environment for everyone who studies and does research in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UIUC by increasing the social interaction within and outside the department; providing opportunities to meet prominent women in our field; providing professional information and support; advocating relevant policy, practices, and curricula changes; and creating awareness of the issues relevant to women in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

    We intend to achieve our goals by hosting regular social meetings, facilitating faculty mentorship, leadership workshops, designing workshops, and inviting guest speakers to give us insight on topics concerning women in Electrical and Computer Engineering. We hope, however, not only to help our fellow students at UIUC, but also to aid others, beyond the boundaries of our campus by demonstrating our support for women already in ECE as well as by sending delegates to high schools, recruiting new minds to join our field.

    There are three levels of annual sponsorship:

As a Bronze sponsor ($250), WECE will co-sponsor a company recruiting event on the University of Illinois campus, and we will promote your event by distributing fliers, emailing members, and contacting other student organizations. Your sponsorship will cover the cost of food and drinks.
With a Silver sponsorship ($500), we will create a scholarship in your name, in addition to cosponsoring a recruiting event. You may set the criteria for the scholarship. One possibility: academic excellence with preference given to those with leadership experience and co-op/internship experience.
As a Gold sponsor ($1000), not only will WECE co-sponsor one of your campus recruiting events, you will be an official sponsor of our technical project for the year. The project is to be exhibited at Engineering Open House, an annual science and engineering fair which draws hundreds of visitors from all over the state of Illinois. Your company logo will be printed on all our promotional items and fliers.

With the markedly low number of women in our field, corporate sponsorship is important in order for WECE to grow and expand. With your help, we will be able to concentrate primarily on supporting and encouraging women in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Thank you for your consideration of this opportunity.
